FMS Training — Website Redesign for Queensland's Premier Forklift Training Provider

Website Redesign with aXcelerate Integration

The Client

FMS Training is a Queensland-based RTO with over 30 years of experience in forklift training and licensing, having helped tens of thousands of students obtain their forklift licences. Beyond forklift training, they also deliver Confined Spaces, Working at Heights, White Card, Verification of Competency, and onsite training services — operating from their Brisbane (Lawnton) facility and across Queensland via onsite delivery.

The Challenge

Despite their three decades of industry leadership, FMS Training's website wasn't keeping pace with the business. Navigation, user experience, and visual design all needed significant improvement to reflect their reputation as Queensland's go-to forklift training provider. Critically, FMS Training had adopted aXcelerate as their Student Management System and needed this fully integrated into the new website — connecting course schedules, student registrations, and payments into a single seamless experience. There was also a strategic opportunity to migrate to an .edu.au domain to leverage the credibility and trust that comes with an educational domain extension.

The Objectives

Full Steam was engaged to deliver a comprehensive website redesign with four defined goals:

• Significantly improve UX, navigation, and visual design across all devices

• Enable seamless course booking for individuals and businesses, including onsite training requests and group bookings

• Fully integrate aXcelerate for course enrolment, payment, and student data management

• Build a scalable platform that can grow with FMS Training as new courses are added

The Solution

Custom Redesign

A fully custom WordPress website was designed and built to reflect FMS Training's 30-year brand heritage while delivering a modern, mobile-first experience. The new structure organised content clearly across Courses, About Us (including training locations and a note from the director), Reviews, Resources (blog, student handbook, ID checklist), and a live Training Calendar.

aXcelerate Integration

aXcelerate was integrated into the website to provide live course scheduling, student registration, and payment processing — connecting the public-facing website directly to FMS Training's back-end student management workflows. This eliminated data silos and created a unified experience from first visit through to completed enrolment.

Domain Migration to .edu.au

Full Steam recommended — and scoped — a migration from the existing .com.au domain to an .edu.au domain, recognising the significant trust and credibility benefits this carries for a registered training organisation, particularly in attracting students searching for accredited training providers.
